Oh hi, it’s me Amy!
I purchased my first camera 9 YEARS AGO. I know that because my second niece was just born and I wanted to try a newborn session with her and her sister; I was soooo proud of these images! From then to now I have grown so much, I want to talk about a little what I did with my camera and photography from then to now. I want to say, it takes me a little longer to learn things and pick up on techniques. When I got my first DSLR, I wanted to jump into manual settings ASAP. I just tried reading the manual, that didn’t work. Then I watched Youtube on Youtube videos of people explaining about how your lens open and closes for shutter speed and F Stop (yes a lot more goes into my manual settings).
So after learning that, I thought I would have photos down; NOPE! I have concluded I will always be learning how to better my sessions, the way I want my end photo to appear.
I took my camera to so many family events, on trips (from the Smokey Mountains to Glacier), and in everyday life to work on everythings from lighting, depth of field, composition, feeling, emotion, and quality. How did I start booking sessions? I started asking families, couples, and anyone who wouldn’t mind a few blurry photos. I think my first paid session I booked was $35 <<---- WHAT!!! I have completely fallen in love with family sessions and weddings; I love capturing connection and love. It is so fun spending time with families in the evening running through field grasses and catching sun flares. And can we talk about weddings for a second! I get to spend an entire year planning, engagement session, plus a whole day capturing one of the most important and built up days in a couple’s lives; it is truly an honor. Today, I am really happy and proud of my images I create. It has taken hours reading and watching sources online, mentorships, talking to other photographers, and practicing. A business is really hard to run, but it is so worth it for myself and family.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and I hope to connect with everyone in one way or another.
