4 Kid Activities To Do Near Forest Lake

Forest Lake Family Activities

Bowling at Stars and Strikes

The bowling alley just North of Forest Lake is packed with hours of activities! From the obvious bowling to great food and the packed arcade, you can have hours of fun! During the Summer, they offer FREE bowling for kids! Plus don’t you remember as a kid how fun Cosmic Bowling was with all the lights and music. If the kids aren’t done after their game of bowling head over to the arcade and challenge the kids in some Air Hockey; you can put as little as $10 on a game card.

Forest Lake Library

The Forest Lake Hardwood Library, part of Washington County’s libraries, is top of the line! The kid area has imaginary dramatic play center, a light board, coloring, and other small toys. There are obviously the amazing books but this is truly a community place. I have met many local Forest Lake area moms here that have become friends. They have a daily schedule of reading hours for families, toddlers, and babies. On Wednesday evenings, they bring out a craft art! Check out their classes as well for teen clubs, classes, and read-to-a-dog times! If you can’t tell this is one of our favorite places and has been such a big part of our lives.

Open Gym at Flyaway Gymnastics

Do your kiddos need to burn some energy off? Flyaway Gymnastics on the North side of Forest Lake has open gym times for preschoolers and all ages during the week. For only $5, your kids can run around, jump in the foam pit, try the balance beam, and give a shot at their ninja course. This place saved us when my kids were toddlers! We would meet our friends there almost daily to have some friend time. It was the perfect timing, right after breakfast and ends right before lunch. Go give it a try!

For being a little drive from the cities, there are still great family things to do in the Forest Lake area. Most importantly, your kids just want you to be present and be near them. Remember, you are a great parent and giving them the best childhood you can right now!

If you are a parent in North Branch, Chisago, Lindstrom, Wyoming, Columbus, Lino Lakes, Hugo, Scandia, or White Bear Lake, I hope you enjoy these places and find a new special place for you and your kids
